BOMMEL

The Bommel Collection was inspired by my first series of stump lamps by experimenting with found stumps and turning them on a wood and metal lathe. Since then, these pieces are now wood-turned from kiln-dried solid birch and walnut hardwood by local Montreal woodturner Pierre Tardif. The Bommel line consists of 4 lamps: the Bottle, Dome, Bulb and Bowl Lamps. Our most popular configuration and best-seller is our trio.

Our first lamp in this line, the Bottle Lamp, is modular in nature, as they can hang from the ceiling or sit inside the Bommel concrete base.

The Bulb Lamp, one of the newest lamps, can also be used as a table lamp, but I am in the process of designing a base for it.

Dovell Hanging Lamp

DOVELL

Originally conceived by deconstructing triangular motifs found in traditional Mennonite quilts, the Dovell Collection is distilled to simple shapes made up of tubes and triangles, where a round wooden cylinder containing an LED light pierces and balances upon a triangular-shaped base. Perfect for a front entrance, living room credenza or as task lighting for a work desk. Powder-coated aluminum available in various colours: coral, terracotta, white, black, grey, yellow, medium blue and pale green. Hardwoods available: White oak, walnut, maple, whitewashed maple.

Stohl Floor Lamp

STOHL

The Stohl Floor Lamp is a cross between the geometry of our angled Dovell lamps inspired by the triangular motifs in Mennonite quilts, and the warm, organic curves of our wood-turned Bommel hanging lamps. Shown here in a terracotta red-clay powder coated steel with a base and lamp shade hand-turned in birch hardwood. Customizable colours and choice of hardwoods.

MANITOBA

This collection of wall lamps is inspired by the shapes, pendulums and weights of Mennonite Kroeger wall clocks, originally quite ornately painted and made out of steel and brass. These clocks embody an inherent sense of home and place, so with this in mind, this collection has a focus on mental health and well-being. Circadian lighting tells time as the light changes intensity and colour throughout the day, thus limiting the effect electric light has on human circadian rhythm.

Users will be able to control the lighting either through touch, such as running their hands through hanging brass chains, through a switch or through a smartphone app to be developed in the future.

STŌBBEN

The Stōbben Collection is my first, and what initially propelled me to start thinking seriously about launching a business. I saw these stumps drying outside my parents' house in southwestern Alberta and immediately thought it would be interesting to try and turn them into lamps. Topped with vintage-style Edison bulbs, they're perfect as bedside lamps, or on a side table beside a roaring fireplace in a remote chalet...
